The HARTY Awards are based on an annual blog post ran in conjunction with the NHL Award Show, in which the publisher of the blog feels the need to feed his narcissism by declaring who he thinks is the best at everything in hockey. Most HARTYs have a comparable award in the NHL (for example, "Best Blueliner" is essentially Norris Trophy lite,) but there are a few other HARTYs that are not in any way recognized by the NHL and are unique to The Hart of Hockey.
In addition to being forever chronicled on this page, all HARTY Awards are added to the winners' Wikipedia pages and promptly removed by the website's moderators within the next day or two.
